In the summer of 1941, Romania is marked by the Antonescu fascist regime and the upheaval of the Iași Pogrom, which brutally targeted the Jews. Many of these victims of persecution are forcibly recruited to the Eastern Front alongside Romanian forces. Irony of fate places them in the position of fighting for those who have caused them so much suffering.
